My Prostate Cancer Story
by Justin Lukasavige

I originally committed to the Prostate Cancer Climb simply because I wanted to help raise money for an excellent cause. Shortly thereafter, my best friend lost his grandfather to Prostate Cancer. It then hit me that this disease is subject to anyone man, no matter what his background. I’ve heard it before, but it really can happen to anyone, and chances are, it will.

Still in school at Purdue University, I am taking my last semester off to donate my self, both physically and mentally, to climbing for a cure to a horrible disease.

My main sponsor is an indoor climbing gym in Indianapolis, IN called Climb Time. They are donating money to the climb, as well as a place for me to keep in shape.

I have a limited climbing history which involves ascents of various 14,000 foot plus peaks in Colorado, technical rock climbs of over 1,000 feet, ice climbs on frozen waterfalls, and many long, multi-day backpacking trips. Mt. Aconcagua will be the biggest challenge I have ever faced in life.

Sincerely,
Justin Lukasavige
