I Climb to Make a Difference
by Erin Stanhope

This is my story,

Over 10 years ago my Aunt and her boyfriend asked me if I wanted to learn how to climb. With their skill and patience taught me how to climb, but more importantly, taught to believe in my abilities and myself.

Since that start, I have climbed Denali, Pico De Orizaba, and many of the mountains in the Sierra Nevada. I have always believed that if I could use my abilities in climbing to make a difference, I would. I believe in climbing for a cause, and believe in representing all the men who will not ever be able to climb a mountain due to Prostate Cancer.

This climb is a climb not only to challenge the human spirit, but a climb for humanity. The success of this climb is not based solely on the summit, but the awareness raised about Prostate Cancer. I have met more and more people who have this life changing disease.

This climb is just the tip of the iceberg, and I am proud to be involved in it.

Thank You,
Erin Stanhope
